Art
Group
This is our newest
Group -welcome! The Art Group meets on
alternate Fridays - for more details, contact the Halls on the above
number.

Group
A group studying and
performing drama, for all ages. For more details, contact us on the

English
Conversation Group
The Group meets for the benefit of those for whom English is not
their first language, by providing opportunities to speak in English
with local people on a wide range of topics, including the many
routine tasks we undertake in daily life. Email us at the Halls for

A
WORLDWIDE MOVEMENT
Girlguiding
UK is the largest voluntary organisation for girls and young women
in this county. It has
around 600,000 members.
WHAT
DO GUIDES DO?
Guides
have fun! They take
part in indoor and outdoor activities.
Their meetings are full of games and activities that are both
fun and challenging.
WHO
CAN BE A GUIDE?
Any
girl aged five or over. Membership
is voluntary and is open to any girl or women regardless of faith,
race, culture or nationality, provided she is able to understand and
willing to work towards making the Promise.
Girlguiding
Myland has five units:
1st
& 2nd Myland Rainbows Guides for girls aged 5 – 7
1st
& 2nd Myland Brownies Guides
for girls ages 7 – 10
1st
Myland Guides for girls aged 10+
There
are opportunities for young women aged 14+ to help as Young Leaders.

Mothers’
Union

Myland
Mothers’ Union meets on the 1st Wednesday of each month from 2:30
to 4 p.m. We begin with a short service of worship and then usually
have a speaker.
Essex
Mothers’ Union branches visit both the men’s and women’s
prisons in Chelmsford, helping with a crèche for prisoners’
children. We also run Contact Centres for broken families where
parents can visit their children in safety.

Myland
Playgroup
Learning
through Play for children aged from 2years 9months held in Myland
Parish Halls. We offer good quality childcare for 2½ hours, five
sessions a week, during term time.
Our
staff are fully qualified and the group is OFSTED registered.

Parent
& Toddler Group
The
Group is open to all parents with children from birth to school age,
providing social contact for parents and carers with fun and
stimulation for the little ones. We meet on Thursday morning from 10
a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in term-time.

St. Michael's Church
Social Events
We hold a large number
of social and other events in the Halls, for the benefit of the
community - such as the Art Exhibition, Plant Sale, quizzes,
barbecues and parties. See the Mylander, the hall noticeboard or

Scouts

The Scouting movement
is one of Myland's oldest organisations, and is still going strong.
We meet weekly in the Halls, providing traditional development
opportunities for young people of all age-groups. |

"Senior
Moments"
Our
Club for people of the parish aged 60+ meets in Myland Parish Halls
on the third Wednesday of each month. We have visiting speakers and
entertainers, and we're also capable of making our own entertainment
- especially when it comes to food!

This is our Saturday Club,
instead of a Sunday School, for children aged 5 to 11. We meet on
the first Saturday of each month from 10am to noon, and do a very
wide range of activities. We have our own website - it's
www.stmixkids.com in case you
haven't guessed!

Institute

Mile
End Women’s Institute meets monthly in Myland Parish Halls. For further

The Club, managed by
Community Action in Mile End, runs on alternate Friday evenings,
even in school holidays. Drop in and see what's happening!

Youth Group for the over 11’s, meeting every other Thursday from
7:45 – 9:00 p.m. in the Church Hall.
