Myland Parish Halls were built in 1871, as a school for 137 children, and continued as a school for 36 years until a new school was built to serve the growing population – the new building, opened in Mill Road in 1907, had a capacity of 350 children.

The building later became known as the Parish Halls, which for the past 50 years have been in continuous use serving the local community. Today, the Halls play a key role in the locality by providing community centred, educational and leisure activities. Nineteen community groups use the premises on a regular basis including a playgroup, a parent and toddler group, Guiding & Scouting Groups, a drama group, "Senior Moments" as well as four Church groups; and on most weekends private party bookings are held in the Halls.

There are two Halls, which are available for hire at various times, with modest kitchen facilities and toilets. Please telephone the above number for more details, or for enquiries about booking the Halls.

Whilst there have been a number of repairs and improvements over the years, there is now an urgent need to modernise the facilities in the building, to meet the needs and expectations of our community, which is growing at a faster pace than ever before. We now have a Halls Modernisation Project – click here for up-to-date information on our progress.
